Our Man in the Ministry. Nick Pope, a “UFOlogist” who had the good fortune to get access to some files (mostly submitted by the public, don’t forget) and who has dined out on his carefully stage-managed public persona ever since.
It never ceases to amaze me, how UFOlogy still courts Nick Pope, who, in reality hasn’t contributed much in the way of genuine research but has constantly pontificated about the “UFO Files” held by the “UFO Desk” within the Ministry of Defence. Of course, things aren’t quite how Nick explains them. In fact, Nick is often guilty of stretching the fabric of reality in regards to some of his claims. That hasn’t stopped the media and many UFO “researchers” beating a path to hear what fence-sitting position Nick has taken on any given UFO-related topic. Master of the sound-bite, controller of the dialogue, it’s almost as if Nick has had some media training… Always effortlessly placing himself inside other people’s stories…
I aim to update with a good selection of links which show that it just isn’t me highlighting the issues with Nick’s story. And it is a story, folks.
